Weddings at The Belsfield Hotel, Windermere

The Belsfield Hotel sits high above the northern reaches of Windermere with views across the lake to the Langdale Pikes and beyond. It's one of those venues where you barely need to step outside for a stunning backdrop, the terrace alone gives you the lake, the fells and the gardens all in one shot.

Inside, the rooms have real character, high ceilings, big windows and plenty of natural light, which makes a huge difference when filming. The ceremony room overlooks the grounds and the light in there is lovely, particularly in the afternoon.

I've filmed several weddings here over the years and it's always been a pleasure to work at. Like many venues in the area, the Belsfield is undergoing major refurbishment in 2025, so it might be a while until I get the chance to film here again, but I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it.
