Weddings at Armathwaite Hall, Bassenthwaite
Set in it’s own extensive grounds, Armathwaite Hall lies close to the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake in the north of the Lake District. It’s a fabulous mix of traditional country house, oak panelled hall and grand staircase together with a modern, spacious reception room for wedding breakfasts and evening events- not to mention a luxury spa.
I’ve filmed many wedding here over the years either inside, overlooking the lake and mountains, or out in the gazebo, set on the edge of the lawns under ancient oaks. There’s also a new addition of a woodland setting for your wedding ceremony.
The grounds are one of the real highlights here, sweeping lawns, mature trees and views across to Bassenthwaite Lake and Skiddaw beyond. On a clear day, there's nowhere better for your photos and it gives me some fantastic footage to work with.
Inside, the main hall has a grand staircase that works beautifully for arrivals and confetti shots, and the reception room is spacious enough for large weddings without ever feeling too big. The spa is a nice bonus for the morning of the wedding too, a relaxed start to the day always comes across in the footage.
