Weddings at Inn on the Lake, Ullswater
The Inn on the Lake is situated in the centre of the village of Glenridding at the southern end of Ullswater. I've filmed weddings here more times than I can remember, from small family gatherings to 100+ guests.
The hotel grounds sweep down onto the lake shore and form a fabulous backdrop for your photoshoot and an outside ceremony in the gazebo. With the Helvellyn fells to one side, Place Fell to the other and views all the way down to Kirkstone Pass it's an amazing setting whichever way you turn. You can finish off the day with a cruise on the lake while they set up the evening event in the Candleroom for a night of dancing and celebration.
Inside, the ceremony room has large windows looking out over the grounds towards the lake, great natural light and a beautiful setting for your vows. The Candleroom downstairs has a completely different feel for the evening, with low lighting and a real sense of atmosphere once the dancing gets going.
It's one of those venues where the day flows naturally from one space to the next, ceremony, photos on the lawn, drinks on the terrace, and then down to the evening reception without anyone having to travel anywhere. That makes my job easier too, and means I don't miss a thing.
